Torino wins the tenth edition of the International Preliminary Tournament – Memorial A. Gianfranceschi and A. Gradizzi. This is the final result of the tournament organized by ASD Bardolino Champions Cup with the support and collaboration of the Municipal Administration of the city of Bardolino and ASD Baldo Junior Team. The event took place in the town on Lake Garda on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from May 2nd to 4th, 2025. A long football marathon – with no less than 150 matches played – involved over 450 under-10 players from 30 participating teams, including 7 foreign teams (one from Australia, one from Canada, one from Romania, and four from Hungary) and 16 Italian professional teams.
The “Torelli” triumphed in the final round – in front of a large audience of over 3,000 people across the three days – defeating FeralpiSalò and especially Sassuolo. The latter had maintained a perfect winning streak until the final match against Torino. The final score was 2-0, a victory with strong symbolic value, as it occurred on the anniversary of the Superga tragedy in which, on May 4th, 1949, the legendary “Grande Torino” team perished. The tournament organization honored the tragedy by observing a minute of silence during the final day.
Beyond the performances on the field, the efforts of the entire organization – composed of many volunteers – must be highlighted, as well as the crucial support provided by the hospitality school I.P.S.A.R Luigi Carnacina of Bardolino, which served up to 500 meals per day in less than two hours to all participating teams, including players and technical staff.
